The judges have deliberated one final time on the work from the our first event. The £500 cash traction prize from the Influx Trust recognises the initiative that has developed furthest in the month since the hackathon in February. The winner was developed as Tweet A Dream, a site to enable 1.8bn children to feed their views into the shaping of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, the follow up the Millenium Development Goals which expire in September 2015. The project has rebranded itself as OurFuture.World.

The original founder Florian Rutsch has grown a team to pursue the project to great effect, gathering 1200 Facebook likes, over 100 twitter followers, registering over 50 ambassadors for the project worldwide as well as engaging with a number of NGOs and starting the process of setting up the work formally as a non-profit organisation themselves. They are looking to expand their team further, looking for a person to work with them on writing/design/web/data so go via their site if you're interested.

In response to the award Florian said 'We are very happy for the support and look forward to growing the campaign further with the prize money. We have worked hard in the last weeks since the hackathon to make it happen and the response so far has been overwhelming. We are grateful for everyone who shares the campaign and helps us inspire thousands of young people around the world to dream big and reach their full potential!'

We applaud all the participants who took part in the first hackathon and we look forward to seeing a wave of initiatives progressing successfully. We also thank the judges for their support as well as our facilitators Klaus & Dan and also to Venture Scout for generously hosting and supporting everything. We are now planning a follow up event for Autumn which will be held simultaneously in several countries and will engage more closely with major UN agencies. We welcome your support as partners, sponsors, participants, mentors and media: mwhkalis@gmail.com

Until soon. Max
