1. Why the UN needs you...

 

• The Straight Jacket- The United Nations can't reform itself. It is in a position whereby no meaningful change could be agreed as those with priviledge of veto can block it. It requires an external source to make meaningful change possible, that's us.

 

• Lubrication- Different people have more in common than different governments and can act more quickly. Governments are importants for global matters that do not respect borders and affect us all, but would be complimented significantly by more engagement of individuals.

 

• Hollowness- When the UN's principles are challenged and not respected it is not just because of its limited money and military might against the scale of the UN's aims but mostly because the UN is not connected to real people that it can be ignored.

 

2. Why you need the UN...

 

• A Better Referee- With more people on the planet, fewer unused resources and living ever more interdependently we would benefit from having a more credible referee for global matters that do not respect national boundaries.

 

• Good News- You don't need to feel helpless when you see terrible actions on international news.

 

3. Why you need to support Influx...

 

• Simple, Fun & Powerful- Without a connection between the public and the UN to leverage the political will of both individuals and states we can't expect the UN to achieve its goals.
