The working group responsible for putting in place development goals to follow the 8 Millennium Development Goals has issued a list of 17 goals for the 'Sustainable Development Goals'. The 17th comes closest to the UN Influx aim of having the level of UN support from individuals recognised as an underlying measure of success for UN work. It states '17. Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development'.
While this is not explicitly making 'promoting the means for individuals as active UN supporters within memeber states' as would be the UN Influx aim it indicates a broad level of agreement that wider partnerships supporting the UN would be beneficial. We look forward to seeing how Goal 17 develops and hope to push it towards a civil society focus explicitly engaging individuals to support the UN in all its aims.
The summary of all 17 shortlisted goals is here: http://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/sdgsproposal.html
